Miss Caroline Abbot

Meet Miss Caroline Abbot! Caroline is American Girl's upcoming historical from the year 1812, coming out this September.

I think she's adorable! I love the long curls. Her eyes are beautiful - they're like a delicate seafoam green. I don't think she's going to be coming home with me, though - Elizabeth has official dibs on her collection. ;) Elizabeth doesn't have many outfits and I thought Caroline would have suiting clothing for her. It works out well that they have similar coloring, so all her outfits should look amazing on Elizabeth!

Her meet outfit is very cute. I think it's a lovely shade of pink, and look at those cute little pink slippers! I find it interesting that she's holding a little top, too - part of her meet accessories?

Anyway, very excited for September to roll around to check out what else AG has included in her little world.

Designer Villains

Is anyone else excited about the Disney Designer Villains Collection? I absolutely adored the Designer Princesses and was very excited to hear they were going to do villains as well.

This time around there will be six dolls, complete with a very nice display box and Certificate of Authenticity. Each doll is LE (that is, Limited Edition) of 13,000. They retail for $80 each ($20 more than the princesses sold for). The release dates and dolls are as follows:

September 10: Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
September 17: The Evil Queen (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
Sepetember 24: The Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)
October 1: Ursula (The Little Mermaid)
October 8: Mother Gothel (Tangled)
October 15: Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmations)

I'm really excited for them. I think I'm going to get The Queen of Hearts. When I first heard the villains rumor I knew instantly I'd love an awesome Queen of Hearts. She took a bit to grow on me but I think I'm happy with her, and being an Alice in Wonderland fan, I've been wanting a doll from the movie for a while. I'm also glad they upped the LE number from last time - it was crazy with everyone trying to get those princess dolls.

In addition to the six dolls, there will also be other items included in the line featuring the artwork of the six villains, including cosmetics, clothing, coffee mugs, and notebooks. I find I like the artwork even more than I like the dolls! I'm hoping they'll have notecards like they did with the princesses. I'd like to frame them. The details in the art is just stunning.

I know some people online are upset and wish they'd come out with the ten villains who go with the ten princesses from the Designer Princess line, but I'm happy with it. I love the princess movies of course but I also love the others too, and I like that they haven't boxed this collection into a princess mindset. I was very happy to see they included The Queen of Hearts and Cruella.

I hope they continue these Designer lines. I love seeing them take these classic characters and give them a new look that all flows together. How about those lovely Disney gals that get forgotten about next time around? Alice and Meg would be more than welcomed into my collection... :)

You can see more photos and info on this line on Disney Store blog: http://blog.disneystore.com/blog/2012/06/introducing-the-villains-designer-collection-at-disney-store-.html

Mini Anniversary Felicity

I purchased the mini anniversary Felicity! She was on sale on Cyber Monday and I couldn't pass it up. I adore this little girl. A couple things though:

1. No shift. What?
2. No socks. Her shoes fit snugly so I don't think you could put socks on anyway.

Thankfully for me:

1. I don't have the mini travel gown Felicity
2. I won't want the extra doll laying around, so I'll steal her outfit - shift and socks and shoes included
3. 18" Felicity wears her meet socks and shoes with her Christmas gown anyways, therefore so will mini Felicity

So that will fix that!

She has very soft, silky hair. Her little pin curls are just darling. Her dress is just a shade darker than my 18" version, but I do believe that is a Pleasant Company version so it may match a newer Christmas gown better.
Also, she doesn't look as crowded as she does in AGs stock photo.

She's a real cutie and I know I would have regretted missing out on her!

Disney Store's 12" Snow White Doll & Accessory Set

I finally got my hands on a Snow White doll!

I decided just to get the Disney Store's 12" Snow White. I don't really like her dress, so I bought her accessory set, too - not to mention the deal I got (they were on sale for $10 each, and on top of that I had a 20% off coupon, which gave me a final total of $16.40). Well, I was in a hurry to get her open, so no in-box photos! ;) Sorry! I also skipped the glitter dress pictures. LOL. I can't stand glitter shedding all over me. The skirt was the worst; the top actually wasn't that bad.

Anyway. On to what I DID get photographed...

Snow White came with her princess gown, headband and yellow heels. The accessory set included two dresses, a veil, hair brush, and two of her Dwarf friends - Dopey and Happy.

The dress seems to be durable, my only problem with it is the glitter - she actually has glitter on her legs that I can NOT get off. Bah. Her headband is removable and has an elastic to hold in place, but it and some hair is sewed into place; easily snipped, but I'm afraid her hair will fall if I do, so for now it hasn't been removed.

Her rags dress I love. It's so adorable! I think I love it so much because she almost looks even lovelier in it than her princess gown (speaking in terms of her movie, not just this doll and her outfits). It just shows how she really is "the fairest of them all".

The one thing I really wish they had included in the accessory pack would be extra shoes; the doll comes with yellow heels, but they don't match her rags or wedding gown! =/ So for now she'll be going barefoot.

Snow White isn't quite sure how she's supposed to brush her hair with that! Her hair actually looks like it wouldn't take any brushing well; I think it'd make a better mirror, lol! But hey, all the other princesses got brushes lol. Dopey and Happy are cute but not to scale; they look like they'd fit into a figure set just fine. I looked online and actually, it looks like Dopey is the exact same mold as in the Snow White figure set, just with a little plot of grass added! Kids probably wouldn't have a problem with either the scale or putting them into another little world of their toys, so this doesn't bother me. In fact, Nicki discovered she can hold them perfectly in her little hands and have deemed them her own. ;)

Snow White's heels look an awful lot like my Rapunzel's heels - next time Rapunzel ventures out of her display box, I'll compare them and see if they are indeed the same mold or not. I don't think so, but they are at least very similar. They stay on very well, they don't slip off super easily like some shoes might.

Her wedding dress is horrible quality. I had the hardest time getting it on (okay, that may partially be because of her jointed wrists that move on me, but I didn't have near the trouble putting her into her rags), and once I did, all those threads were at her shoulder. I snipped them with no problem, but I do wonder how long this gown would last in the hands of a five year old. Her velcro has already partially detached from the dress as well. Mind you she's been in this gown ONCE, for these photos - ten minutes tops.

The veil is, um, a veil. Seems alright to me I guess! It has a little velcro where it goes behind her neck.

I did find though, this outfit made her blush appear even more so. I thought that was quite appropriate. I do adore the style; empire waist is gorgeous and fits Snow White SO well. It's so adorable. She may spend some time in it during wedding season next year! I do love weddings!

And following is just a bunch of pretty pictures... she's a very lovely doll. She's perfect, really; I feel her makeup is just right - her lips like blood, and her "eyeshadow" is how I often do my own eyeshadow (when I get around to wearing it, anyway), so I'm good with it! (: I love her expression too. When you tilt her head she looks like she could be singing her dreams out, but I don't think she'd look odd or spaced-out if you were trying to get her to look at another doll.

"And away to his castle we'll go - to be happy, forever, I know..."
Now hopefully I won't regret not getting her Prince! ;)

25% Off Cecile & Marie-Grace's Collection at American Girl

Automatically taken at check out - both online and in store.
I find unless you're spending a lot of money, if you're buying online the discount basically just covers shipping - but if you're not near an AG store (such as myself), that can be helpful anyway!

I'm thinking about getting little anniversary Cecile now... she's such a cutie! I did a mock order and it would cost me just under the original $22 - so again, basically free shipping.

I did a mock order of my "dream list" for this collection, and the savings would knock about $60 off of it. (My list includes Cecile, mini Cecile, one outfit, the chemise & crinoline, gold boots, and the accessories for both girls.) Shipping would be $20 so that knocks it down to $40. Still nice, but nothing I find worthy of freaking out over - except that AG never discounts actual dolls!

The offer goes through the 13th of November. (:

Pretty in Pink - Disney Princess Designer Collection Rapunzel Unboxed

I got my Disney Princess Designer Collection Rapunzel! I got the LAST one (even though I was there second - long story, bah) out of 18. She's beautiful! I got the display doll, but that's okay. I feel it adds to her character that she got to be the one everyone saw and fell in love with. (:

I opened her VERY carefully, brushed out her hair (eep! So much of it! I think she's my last Rapunzel doll for a WHILE), and put her back in her display box without all the ugly packaging. I did keep some of the packaging to prepare her whenever I move. It'll all be kept with the box's slip cover so she can be put back into packaging when I move.

If anyone's interested, she has these pink heels. I saw online photos of an opened Snow White and Belle, and their shoes are the same mold just in yellow (SW) and gold (Belle). I haven't seen anyone else's shoes. If you open your dolls, I would suggest leaving the band over their heels; I took the bands off of a collectible Barbie I opened and, well, she's missing a heel now. Oops! So Rapunzel's are staying on nice and secure.

And back in our display box, minus the ugly packaging. (: She stands up very well with just the stand, no plastic spacer needed. She holds balance well and won't topple over. I did put tissue paper under her skirt, just to make sure it didn't move around as I moved around the box, as she doesn't have a place yet. When I find her a permanent place I may take out the tissue.

Felicity's Wig & a New Friend is on the Way!!!

I've been looking around for a new wig for Felicity. Her hair has lost it's copper color, is very thin, and loses hair easily. It's also dry and has a lot of breakage and isn't so smooth anymore. So I've been looking around. I don't want to send her to the hospital because she is from before Mattel swooped in and changed up the molds, and I don't want her to give that up. So, I found a new Pleasant Company Felicity doll! She's not *brand* new. But her hair looks to be in very good condition and will look so lovely on my Felicity.
But I didn't want a bald doll sitting around. So I thought about it a bit. This new Felicity is just gorgeous and has great limbs. No scratches or marks. She does have some staining on her cloth body from some cleaning products gone wrong, but other than that, she's perfectly fine - plus, she was made in Germany. How cool is that? So I didn't want to sell her off as a TLC doll or anything. And then her character just came to me!

She'll also be coming in Josefina's Christmas outfit, PC edition. Just the dress, pantaloons and veil clip, but that okays. I really want a PC Josefina so this will be kept for her - and Felicity #2 needs to have *something* to wear! I already have in mind her real meet outfit, but I have yet to obtain it. I'll get around to that soon.

I'm so excited to really bring her to life. I've got ideas in mind of what to make/get for her... I've already made her one little essential accessory! Can't wait to introduce her to you!... You know, the none existent followers who don't read my blog. Lol.

Oh well... the girls are excited about getting a new sister!
